Loading Clips
I just spent a hour and a half cleaning and loading 50 clips. Summers coming and it's time to put in some serious range time.
What a great way to make you feel better! Fun in the sun! |
Re: Loading Clips
What the hell's a clip? :s10: Seriously, all that shooting can get EXPENSIVE, but what the hey, have fun!

Have a navy M1 in 308 that my dad shot at camp perry in the early 60's and yes 308 and not 30-06. |

Re: Loading Clips
I want to pick up another rifle and can't decide what to get myself. Saiga .308, M1 Garand, PSL-54c, something in one of those calibers.
Just can't decide. |

The M1 won WW2 for us, and is one of the great
Battle rifels that have been made. |
Re: Loading Clips
did you pick up surplus '06 some place?
I have been looking for some but unable to locate any. By the way for low light shooting you can take some white chalk and make the sights a whole lot easier to use. |
Re: Loading Clips
Both of the guns are 308 cal.
And no they were not surplus, and yes for low light white works but for day I use carbide flame carbon to blacken the front sight on the M1A the Grand has a globe sight on the front. |

You have an M1 Garand chambered for 30-06? It can't shoot 308 Nato? Correct? Do you also have a M1 Carbine? Be well. PS The M1 Carbine, as you probably read the story, was designed by a prison inmate in N Carolina, and made in the prison work shop. |
Re: Loading Clips
Hmmm, I've been looking for some 06 also.....
Ball would be great, Match would be better..... Anyone have some or know of some? PM me please!!!!!!!! GRP:15_1_70v: |
Re: Loading Clips
Hi,
The M1 is a Navy Grand and it is a 308 the navy did that ... I know most fokes think all M1's are 30-06 but not true.. And look up the history on the carbine when they made the movie carbine willams they kinda started a simi-myth. Look at Wikipedia m1 carbine and that is closer to the truth.. Live long and prosper...:15_1_70v: |
Re: Loading Clips
Just got my "ATF alerting size order" of 30-06 from the CMP in the mail today... I ordered it on 12-29-08, so it looks like a 3 mo backlog from the Citizens Marksmanship Program. Takes a while to get it, but its the cheapest game in town.

Russia''s Moin Nagant and T-34 were both the best in their class, for sure. And that country suffered the largest loss,es and gains of all the allies. Peace. :36_3_12: |

800 rds of 30.06 (mix A.P. and ball) 40 rds. Black Talon .308 50rds. Black Talon 9mm and some other odd ball ammo. The guy didn't want to sell so we worked an ammo trade. |
